We Demand That Corporate Donations Be Limited to Allow Fair and Equal Participation in the Federal Legislative Process.

Created by A.B. on January 04, 2016

Congress has a clear, if somewhat tenuous definition as to the difference between a "donation" and a "bribe."
The fact that this delineation needs to be made is problematic and shines a light on a more insidious issue: the fact that Congress is aware that the issue exists, and is unwilling to act to change it.
The problem is not the definition, but the fact that the definition, and the lack of donation caps for corporate interests, allow for policy to be influenced or dictated by corporations or individuals who do not have the interest of the American people at heart.
We urge you, Mr. President, to end corporate donations and to replace the PAC fund donation caps for individual donations to a stricter, more controlled level to allow fair and equal participation in the legislative process.
