Due to the 800 Character limit, I cannot write an acceptable petition. As such I will keep this short. Who are best suited to interpret what the American Patriots and founding fathers meant when they wrote the 2nd Amendment than the Patriots and founding fathers themselves? The 2nd amendment is not merely for hunting, recreational shooting, and self-defense. It is also for combating an overreaching government. Assault rifles should be legal for that purpose, as should the AR-15, which is not even an assault rifle.
