We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

We didn't vote for racism and bigotry.

Created by E.D. on November 18, 2016

This was a change election. Many good people voted for Trump because they wanted a different direction for the country. Unfortunately, many bigoted and racist people also voted for Trump because they feel he speaks for them, and they now see his election as a green light to act out on their own hate and bigotry. The Southern Poverty Law Center has said the spike in hate crimes since the election has been worse than even after 9/11.
We need to send the racists and bigots a message, and show that this election wasn't about them, and it wasn't about their hate.
We call on President-elect Trump to speak forcefully against those committing hate crimes in his name. This election was for change, not hate.
