The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 was a failed attempt at curbing youth alcohol fatalities, and was and still is, a violation of adults' rights. An 18-year-old may fight and die for his/her country, vote, purchase tobacco, sign contracts, be tried as an adult, and be independent of parental control; alcohol should not be the isolated thing from which young adults are hidden. Seeing as though most other developed countries have grown up enough to be able to expose their young adults to alcohol and educate them about its proper usage, it is time for the United States to do the same. The prohibitionists argue that peoples' brains aren't developed at 18. I say this: If they can do just about everything, they should be able to drink. Thank you for your support.
