We know our history petition. Make February a commemorative month for African American heritage not history.

Created by C.A. on January 27, 2015

Morgan Freeman , in an interview with Mike Wallace, once stated the we did not need a Black History Month. He said we don't need to learn history, we already know it. There are a great deal of African Americans that agree with Morgan Freeman. We already know our history, to give a Black History Month implies that we don`t know African American history, as if it can fit in a month anyway.
We as African Americans know history, it`s our heritage that we need to be commemorated for. Heritage is a better term, it implies credit for a past & future ongoing legacy not a need to learn history.

Like the month of May which is National Asian Heritage month or October, Polish american heritage month

We petition this government to re commemorate February as African-American heritage month.
