We should amend the Constitution to enact term limits for members of Congress. Members of the Senate and House of Representatives should be citizens performing public service, not professional politicians. This is clearly what the founding fathers had in mind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and others returned to their farms after serving their nation. It would be much easier to do what is right for the nation rather than what is right for the political party if Senators and Representatives had a finite period of time to do their work.
