On Sunday March 12, 2017, we should go into daylight savings time and leave it there. On the Monday after the time change, businesses lose millions of dollars. The risk of having a heart attack is up. The risk of getting into a car accident is more than on any other day of the year. The time change used to have a purpose before we had lights. It allowed people to work longer because the sun was up longer. Today, it serves no purpose. In the winter the sun goes down at 4:30 p.m., and in the summer the sun goes down at 9:30 p.m. In the winter it gives more sunlight in the morning but it takes more away in the night. A lot of people sleep through the extra hour of sunlight in the morning, so they lose more time that they are awake when the sun is up.
