In a recent CBS News poll, 75% of the people polled agree for the need for term limits for Congress. I am proposing a constitutional amendment that has 2 parts. First, no freely elected congressman can serve more then two terms in office, whether consecutively or separately. Secondly, no former member of congress can serve as a political activist after his/her term in office.
It is past time for this reform. Only through this reform can we have a congress that responds to the needs of the people. This reform would constantly bring in fresh ideas and end the dangerous practice of lifelong politicians. This is the only way I can see that the needs of the american people will truly be addressed by Congress
