Scientific research is something that doesn't have as much funding annually compared to any other fields. As a matter of fact, it currently takes up 0.78% of the annual budget passed by congress according to nationalpriorities.org .
The inspiration I have for this petition is founded from a paper I wrote on nuclear fusion. My hopes for this is that enough money can be directed towards science in order to give fusion a chance of becoming a feasible source of energy, one that will provide the world with power for billions of years without any other risks.
