In 1973, Roe versus Wade declared it unconstitutional to restrict the practice of abortion during the first trimester of pregnancy. In addition, it was ruled that abortions may be performed during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy should the pregnancy pose a health risk to the mother.
We the people must protect a woman's right to choose. We must not overturn the verdict of Roe versus Wade. We must fight for every woman's rights to her own body. We must not restrict abortion access to only those who have been sexually assaulted. We must protect both the mental and physical health of women.
We the people call upon Congress to amend the constitution and ensure that a woman's right to safe and legal abortion is protected under the constitution of the United States of America.
