We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

We the People ask the federal government to remove the interest from federal student loans.

Created by S.J. on November 11, 2016

Student loan debt is hurting the economy by putting the younger generations in debt that they cannot pay and what is worse is the profit that is made from it by the government. If banks can receive loans with less than 1% interest, why is the future job creators in the U.S. not given an incentive to help pay off their student debt? If all student debt cannot be forgiven, at least if the interest is removed, student's will not feel as burdened by it and will more likely pay the debt. This will help rather than hurt the economy.
