This petition aims to create a one-time chance for military service members to void their current contract prior to Mr. Trump inauguration, as it is no longer possible to morally act as an ambassador to a United States of America that has him as leader.
The enlisted oath (paraphrased for brevity) states: I, _____, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States...and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States...So help me God.
Many service members will no longer, in good conscious, be able to represent a nation run by or follow the orders of Mr. Trump, legal or otherwise. In lieu of Mr. Trump's pending inauguration, such service members should be allowed to void current contracts without repercussion for moral objection.
