We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

We the People call upon Congress and the Obama administration to look into the sentencing of Jennifer Fichter.

Created by C.D. on September 28, 2016

Jennifer Fichter, age 30, was sentenced to 22 years behind bars after having sexual relations with three of her 17 year old students. While her conduct is egregious and rightfully resulted in the termination of her job at the school, she does not deserve this harsh sentence. While under Florida law she did indeed commit several crimes, they are all morally ambiguous and thus leave much of the decision of punishment to the judge. In this case, Ms. Fichter was made an example of and received an unbelievably unfair and unjust punishment. We the people simply ask that either she be acquitted of all charges and released or her case be reexamined on a state or national level with a fair sentence in mind.
