Since the results of the 2016 election there has been a spike in hate crimes against minorities. The KKK is a group know for targeting minorities, and is founded on beliefs that put at risk the lives of many Americans, should the current situation go further. To prevent such risk, and to recognize the decades of terror caused by this organization, they should be classified as a terrorist organization and henceforth treated as such. To allow a group founded on extreme racism to exist after the progress of our nation is a hanus act against minorities, and gives power to those who seek to oppress. The benefits of this so clearly outweigh the costs, and it is an insult to all those who have lost their lives in the fight for equality to harbor such perpetuation of hate.
