The Chicago City Council approved a contract in 2008 to relinquish the city’s hold over 36,000 parking meters in exchange for a $1.2 billion payout. Since then Chicago Parking Meters LLC has seen its revenue increase by 368 percent. We the people of Chicago seek to void this crappy and most likely illegal deal where Daley and his cronies gave away the rights to our city streets. The federal government needs to investigate the deal and see who made out in this deal because the people of Chicago got no vote on this issue and were fleeced. Now some company has the rights to our streets.
