After paying out thousands in bonuses to California National Guard Soldiers to reenlist almost a decade ago, the Pentagon is now demanding that the Soldiers pay back the cash. The bonuses came during the Afghanistan and Iraqi war, when the Pentagon was facing a shortage of troops and scrambling to get people to sign up. But due to the government's incompetence and inability to balance a budget, the government is suddenly short on cash and reaching straight into the pockets of these heroes to make up for the deficit by garnishing wages, and implementing tax liens and interest payments against these veterans' bank accounts. We demand that this stop immediately! These Soldiers held up their end of the contract by serving this country, and the government should hold up theirs!
