Amid allegations of Russian hacking, CIA reports, the popular vote differing from the electoral vote and recent efforts to stop any attempt at a recount, we feel that our very democracy depends on the absolute validity of this election. We therefore ask that President Obama orders through executive action a recount of all ballots cast in the United States for the 2016 election.
To strengthen this effort, we would be very pleased if congress signed a petition of support. This is a bi-partisan request in the name of a peaceful transition of government. Once affirmed, President elect Trump can act with greater confidence if his election was the will of the people. We therefore ask that citizens support and spread this proposal in the name of democracy.
