We, the People of the State of Illinois, petition the White House and ask to be allowed to peacefully secede from the United States of America. Our founding fathers understood that, should a government become tyrannical and controlling, the people have a right to form their own government. We believe that the federal government has reached the point of having become tyrannical and this is being proven by such American rights' violations as the TSA, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the ever-increasing extent the federal government attempt to regulate and control the lives of the people of Illinois. We ask that the White House grant Illinois secession and be left to put into place their own ruling government, separate and distinct from the government of the United States of America
