We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

We the People, in light of the DEA's obvious failure, demand a referendum to Federally decriminalize marijuana.

Created by C.F. on August 11, 2016

The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency has recently announced that they will not remove marijuana from the list of schedule 1 drugs, because it has no proven medical use or potential. This decision flies in the face of studies published worldwide, the VA's decision to study it, and the fact that 25 states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes. Congress, whether because they are beholden to big money lobbyists like Pharma and tobacco, or because they simply don't understand their constituents, refuses to act. So We the People, demand a popular vote referendum to decide whether or not marijuana should be decriminalized at the Federal level, opening the door for State legalization and larger scale studies of its medicinal properties.
