We the people peacefully petition that the right of all to own and bear arms be guaranteed for future generations.

Recognizing historically a consistent and growing attempt to encroach on the people's right to own and bear arms we petition that the Obama administration acknowledge the unadulterated right enumerated by the second amendment. That the second amendment was written in recognition that a from time to time a free people need to protect themselves not only against wild animals or thieves but against an oppressive government unresponsive to the rights and will of its citizens (as was fresh in the author's memory at the time of it's drafting, i.e. The Revolutionary War). And, that any restriction of that right in an attempt to render those arms less threatening or lethal (i.e. restricting magazine capacity, or technology) is a violation of the spirit of the second amendment.
