This petition is to abolish the electoral college.
The electoral college was created by our early government when communication took days, weeks and/or months to insure that all Americans were given an equal opportunity to cast their vote for the elected official of their choice. In this day of modern technology when communication around the world takes only seconds the need for the electoral college no longer exist.
