Rick Derringer's song lyrics reflect what it truly means to be an American in today's day and age. One of the reason's patriotism is so low is because of archaic nursery rhymes like the "Star Spangled Banner." The SSB no longer catches the imagination of real Americans. Look, Francis Scott Key was a real American, writing a song to fight for his life, but his message is for those from another time. Derringer's lyrics hold true to many more Americans, many of who are just trying to fight for what's right.
We the people, demand this administration to either change the national anthem to "Real American" by Rick Derringer or, at least, sanction the song as an official substitute for the SSB at official events like hockey games, graduations, and military funerals
