We the People petition President Obama to pardon Leonard Peltier.

Created by R.C. on March 30, 2014

On June 26, 1975, FBI Special Agents Jack R. Coler and Ronald A. Williams were killed in a firefight with alleged members of an armed Indian resistance group called AIM on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Peltier and two others were indicted of the murders, but the other two were found not guilty on the grounds of self defense. Peltier, in a separate trial, was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder. Stories of witness intimidation by the FBI, withholding of evidence, jury tampering, and judicial incompetence are legendary. Inconsistencies in the official story are too numerous to mention. Amnesty International has published a full report on the abuses in the proceedings, but have fallen on deaf ears for over 35 years. Pardon him now, please.
