We move for the United States government to allow Texas to secede from the Union. Such an action would be mutually beneficial to all parties involved. Although, for Texas, secession would mean the loss of billions of dollars, thousands of jobs, and a national security disaster, secession also represents the principle of self-determination upon which our country was founded. Furthermore, if, at any time, the Second Republic of Texas wishes to return to the Union due to economic, political and social failures, we also preemptively move for the immediate denial of this request.
