We the people should not subject our children in the United States to school mascots carrying religious names or symbols

Created by M.P. on October 27, 2012

Across the United States children in public schools have team mascots that are named after biblical characters. One particular school district is in Tallmadge, Ohio. Their mascot is called the Blue Devil. There is a human size statue of a devil at the middle school. On football game days there are posters depicting devils with horns placed throughout the community on public property. The high school cheerleaders outfits have Devil written on them. Since the devil is depicted numerous times in the bible, which is a religious book, it has no place in the public school system. This would also apply to teams using a mascot called the Angels. This is a civil liberties and rights issue.
