This petition is for secession in Maryland from the United States of America. In response to the recent Presidential election , our country voted for a continuation of infringement on state's and individual's Constitutional rights and a direction towards a socialist, non-constititional state. For the citizens of Maryland who are against this direction, secession would allow protection of state's rights and exemption from Socialist government policies. As well as protection from current Constitutional violations. Maryland as a completely sovereign state would follow the principles of the US Constitution and follow a capitalist direction of a small, central government, which would allow buisnesses and the economy to grow.
