We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

We The People strongly urge Congress to take greater steps and measure in Preventing Sexual Assaults in the Military.

Created by H.A. on May 13, 2016

Sexual Assault is, and has been prevalent in the United States Armed Forces, with statistics indicating 1 in 3 woman in uniform will experience an sexual assault, twice the National civilian average. The Federal government and congress need to take greater steps in protecting the woman who serve their nation with courage, valor, and the utmost of respect. The United States Military has always been male-dominated, with victims of sexual assault being viewed as weak. While measures have been taken to reduce the rate of sexual assault, and prosecute to the fullest extent to the law those who are accused of assault, Congress needs to ensure our soldiers are afforded greater protections against sexual assault, to ensure female soldiers have a safe and supportive working environment.
