We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

We The People of the United States ask the President to issue broad pardons to persons who were wrongfully jailed

Created by S.N. on May 24, 2016

For too many years young males of color have been locked up for minor crimes or for crimes that there was little to no evidence connecting them to the crime. This happened because there are certain businesses and political parties that benefit from people of color being locked up. These young men have had there constitutional right to a fair trial by their peers infringed upon and have been sentenced to cruel and unusual punishment because of this. The influx of prisoners is a source of cheap labor for businesses effectively brought back slave labor in America. As the leader of the Land of the Free it is your responsibility as President to protect the interest of The People and not the business/political class. I urge everyone to sign this petition to end slavery, once again, in America.
