We The People, wish for the consideration to abolish the Electoral College. The Electoral College was originally established out of necessity in 1845 due to the inability of states to communicate with a central government to register votes. We are no longer limited by technology and can register votes in seconds via telephone, Internet, and other media. There is no valid reason to use a system that is antiquated and has proven itself to be fallible. A popular vote system should be put in place so that each Americana's voice is heard. Rather than that of an appointed official, which is given votes based on math that gives greater power to some voters than others. Votes could be certified by each state government and a count of votes could be registered electronically in seconds.
