We petition the Federal Government to institute a qualification test which must be passed before citizens can vote.

Created by P.C. on November 16, 2012

It appears from anecdotal information, at least, that many voters in the United States have less than a complete understanding of how government works. They seem to misunderstand issues and lack clear understanding of the specific powers, structure and function of government and the Constitution, Registration for National Elections should be required and renewed every four years. As part of the registration process a test should be administered of the detailed understanding of the workings or the government and the issues at hand. Those unable to answer specific questions about budgets, deficits, debt, immigration policies and powers of the separate branches should not be able to vote in in a National election. Tests can be re-administered until the person can answer each question.
