This is a petition for the Government to establish a sovereign wealth fund which would be backed by our abundant resources such as natural gas or oil. This fund would secure Americas prosperity and could be used as a hedge against inflation. The United States foreign debt obligations to our creditors could then be financed through this fund. A portion of the proceeds from the domestic and international sale of gas and oil might then be used to fund Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the various welfare programs, education and future infrastructure projects. Such a fund, if and when established, would help to calm world markets and encourage continued investment in the US dollar.
