It is time to provide funding for NASA to develop and implement a program that discovers and tracks all known space objects of a particular size (meteors, asteroids, comets, etc. ) that have the potential to strike Earth and cause catastrophic damage.
Earth is struck by falling objects from space every year. While most do not cause any appreciable damage, it is only a matter of time before one might. We have the technology to set up this network and the technology to possibly avert a disaster if we are given enough time beforehand. It would be beneficial not to just the US but all of humanity
