More than 40 million Chinese high school students are leading a miserable life under the Chinese exam-oriented education system whose ultimate goal is to excel in the Chinese College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). For most students in China, college admissions are totally based on performance in Gaokao.
We (my fellows and I, as representatives of the entire Chinese high school students body) urgently call for an abolition of Gaokao and a complete reform of Chinese education system. We hope the Obama Administration can play an active role in changing the status quo.
