We petition that the Obama administration tackle the issue of mental health treatment instead of gun violence.

This nation's prescription drug system is a problem. We have seen the violence caused by the mentally ill in Sandy Hook School in CT. We have all seen how easy it is to buy a gun nowadays. Yet, we ignore the real problem. This country is too over medicated. We ignore the mentally ill and believe all problems can be resolved with a medication. And what happens when the medication runs out? The symptoms come back and can be detrimental. We need to provide the mentally handicapped therapies to help overcome issues instead of hiding the issues behind a pill. I call for the Obama administration not to focus so much on the gun issues, but to acknowledge that we need to help the sick instead of ignoring them. Not everything can be solved with a pill.
