Child predators sexually abuse children because that is their sexual orientation. Sexual orientation cannot be changed, therefore child rapists cannot be rehabilitated. In order to protect our children, child rapists should be given life in prison. Requiring them to register as sex offenders is a hit and miss program, consuming too much of our tax dollars and does not prevent these crimes against children. Requirements to register as a sexual offender should not include teenagers, one of which is 18 and the other is between 16 and 17 years old. Our children need EFFECTIVE laws and our resources are scarce. Free prison space and resources by locking up hardened criminals, and providing rehabilitation for those who are non-violent.
