Given the carnage modern firearms wrecks on the American people, the fact that the arms available to the government today are substantially more powerful than arms available to the people, rendering their use in any modern battle scenario for the security of the nation moot, the fact that despite the need for mandated responsibility among gun owners is not being enforced by requiring militia drills and the fact the founding fathers could never have anticipated the effect of modern arms in the hands of irresponsible people as a RIGHT, we ask that "arms" as used in the second amendment be explicitly defined according to what the founding fathers knew them to be in 1789: muzzle-loaded weaponry, swords and knives.
It won't stop gun violence, but it will make mass shootings almost impossible.
