This petition is to recognize that Martha Stewart was over-zealously prosecuted, for statements give to investigators in the matter of a single stock transaction. After being found innocent of any wrongdoing in the stock sale, the Justice Department sought to find a way to save face. She was found 'guilty' of not telling the truth, about a crime she was found innocent of. The idea that a person of Martha Stewart's level of wealth, would commit a crime over a $20,000 matter is preposterous. She was prosecuted by mean spirited regulators, and her image wrongfully tarnished.
It is a human rights violation, that can only be reconciled, by a Full and Unconditional apology by the Federal Government.
