Senator Inhofe is targeting the lgbt community with his amendment 381 to the to the Senate Budget. The resolution for 2016 is a federal version of a bill that is cropping up in state legislatures across the nation, the so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Act. It would allow any business person or organization to discriminate against any LGBT person based on "sincerely held religious beliefs." Proponents say these measures are needed to "protect" florists and bakers from having to make bouquets and cakes for same-sex weddings, but some bills would go so far as to "protect" emergency medical technicians from having to save the life of an LGBT person if doing so would violate their religious beliefs.
