Irreversible damage to the earth has already occurred due to immoral and profit (greed) seeking individuals. They want to continue and "increase" their destructive ways. Ignored too long are the many scientific and new sources of energy production. The US simple gives oil companies "billions" of taxpayers dollars on top of the 'billions' in profits they make. we need pure morals, intelligent leadership, and powerful captains at the stern, NOW!
