The amount of voting participation within our country is extremely low compared others around the world. We were once a country with pride in our ideals, but have been outshone. We the American People propose that there be a day set aside for the act of voting (A National Holiday). This would promote the act itself and bring national attention to the important aspects of voting. By making voting a more common part of society, people will naturally become more interested with the processes of democracy. As a result they will become more educated and active citizens.
It is imperative that instead of celebrating all of the good things we have done in the past - that we celebrate all of the great things we can do in the future.
