In a time where our country is so terribly divided and a time where our standing in the world is strained, we should take the time to celebrate our greatest achievement. The moon landing stopped the whole world in its tracks as Neil Armstrong took a giant leap for mankind onto the moons surface. It was one of those very rare instances where the whole world was one. We weren't brought to a stand still on July, 20, 1969 because of some awful tragedy like terrorism or the start of some war. The world community stopped doing what they were doing, and for that short broadcast we were one people, on one planet, cheering on one man who dared to do what no other man had ever done. He did it not for the United States alone, but for the world. He proved that together we can accomplish anything.
