We should not enter a prolonged war in Syria, but we need to send a clear message.

The actions in Syria and the flagrant human rights abuses pose a difficult dilemma to the United States. It is vital to our defense that the message we send to the rest of the world is that there is a boundary of what is acceptable and when that boundary is crossed there will be a consequence. The Syrian Regime has pushed its authoritarian form of government into a despotic dictatorship capable and willing to do anything to impose its will. The United States should strike Syria in a short and precise strike which will restore balance and make it clear that the United States remains committed to fulfilling its responsibility as the most powerful nation in the world to protect against egregious violations of human rights such as the chemical weapons attacks the Syrian regime has perpetrated.
