We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

We should remove the Electoral College and go to a Direct Democracy.

Created by S.C. on September 29, 2016

I believe we should get rid of the Electoral College and go to a direct democracy where popular vote would win. The Electoral College system can cause many problems, first it creates the possibility for the loser of the popular vote to win the electoral vote. It has happened four times out of the 56 presidential elections. The most recent occurrence being Bush v. Gore in 2000 where Al Gore had 540,000 more votes than Bush but the electoral vote was 271 to 266. With this happening were saying these 540,000 votes didn’t matter and the person more people wanted as president shouldn’t be the president. This reason and more are why the Electoral College should be removed and we should turn our voting into a direct democracy where the more popular candidate vote would win.
