We the undersigned affirm that gun and weapons education should be part of the public education system just as sex ed.

Violence is a part of life just as is sex. Our children should be required to learn how to deal with violence as a fact of life. We teach our children how to act logical and responsible when presented with sexual situations. We teach these children to protect themselves against the negative aspects of sex. We should also teach children how to act logical and responsible when presented with violent situations. We should teach our children how to protect themselves against violent situations. The purpose of this petition is to make it a requirement for our public school system to educate our children so that they are familiar with firearms, the positives and negatives of engaging with them ... just as our children are educated about sex, the positives and negatives of engaging in it.
