We urge President Barack Obama to honor the NYPD heroes, Officer Rafael Ramos and Officer Wenjian Liu both with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Both of these officers truly have to be recognized as national heroes. Officer Ramos and officer Liu were tragically targeted merely on account of what they represent. By honoring them with the highest distinction, the country will send a strong and clear message to the men and women in uniform who dedicate their lives every day to protecting their communities that they will never die in vain. This country and the families need to start the grievance and the healing process of this tragedy, by remembering these two officers as heroes.
