We urge President Obama to restructure the Prosperity Plan in Central America.

Created by A.T. on July 28, 2015

The current plan focuses on U.S. security/economic interests, but does not deal with the root causes of the recent immigration crisis.

In Guatemala, we urge President Obama to endorse the demands of people protesting in the streets: the resignation of Pres. Molina and the postponement of elections until laws are reformed to avoid rampant corruption.

The Prosperity Plan needs trustworthy politicians there for implementation. But widespread corruption has placed Molina/other officials under indictment.

In 1998 President Clinton apologized for “the U.S. support of right wing governments in Guat. that killed tens of thousands…” Now Pres. Obama has the opportunity to leave a legacy of real change with a revised plan that would benefit BOTH the U.S. and the people of Central America.
