We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

We would like the Federal Government to recognize bullying as a crime and to enact Federal laws to protect our kids.

Created by C.C. on December 11, 2016

Bullying in the United States is on the rise and suicide rates of children being bullied online and in our public schools continues to grow. Our children should feel safe when they are in school and in the comforts of their own home, but they don't.
I believe that if our Federal Government would define bullying as a crime and lay out clear and concise guidelines and punishments then this issue would improve dramatically.
There are laws against harassment, assault, stalking, etc...but nothing against bullying. 166,000 kids in our country choose to stay home everyday because they are afraid of being bullied.
I believe its time for our Government to start protecting our children.
