We would like to see the name of the Edmund Pettus Bridge, changed to the John Lewis Freedom Memorial Bridge in Selma,AL

Created by S.K. on March 15, 2015

On March 7, 1965 on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Al, violence was perpetrated against 500 Civil Rights activists attempting to march to Montgomery. Due to the fact that this historic landmark was originally named for the Grand Dragon of the KKK, who was also a US Senator, we propose the bridge's name be change to the John Lewis Freedom Memorial Bridge.
