Welfare applicants and current recipients who have had a drug offense should be drug tested

In the United States today, there are 11.4 million welfare recipients, which is a number that is growing. If a mere five percent of these people were drug abusers, that would equate to 500,000 people receiving funding when they should not. Looking into the compensation these people are receiving it averages out to be close to a $30,000 a year “salary.” If they had their funding revoked, that would save American tax payers $15 million as a whole. Looking at how the macroeconomy works, this would not only boost the economy, but help the people who are dealing with drug addiction at the same time.
