Welfare recipients should be required to attend school, volunteer, or do work for the federal government.

Created by J.H. on November 02, 2011

The United States needs more educated workers, we need day care workers while parents are improving their education, and we are spending too much on the government. I therefore think that we should invest in our welfare recipients and use their talents rather than subsidize their unemployment. Welfare recipients should be required to work toward a GED or university degree, volunteer, or perform other tasks needed by the federal government. Unemployed accountants should help the SEC with their backlog. Unemployed teachers should help other welfare recipients earn their GED. This would increase future tax revenues, train them for a better future, improve the economy, and utilize their free time as a productive asset for the nation's good.
